If You're Reading This, It's Too Late (Secret Series)

Great Deal If You're Reading This, It's Too Late (Secret Series)

This is the second book in the Secret Series by Pseudonymous Bosch. This book continues with Cassandra and Max-Ernest as the main characters. In this book Cassandra and Max-Ernest discovered the Midnight Sun. The Midnight Sun is a spa for the forces of evil. Cassandra and Max-Ernest meet Dr. L and Mrs. Mauvais and then the couple invites both Cass and Max-Ernest to dinner. When the kids leave the Mauvais house, Dr. L and his wife start getting suspicious about why Cass and Max-Ernest came to the Midnight Sun. Later on in the story Cassandra goes back to the Midnight Sun to try and figure out what Dr. L and his wife are secretly doing. Max-Ernest and Cassandra find a map to the secret but they never actually find the secret in this book. Dr. L and Mrs. Mauvais try to get the map from Cassandra and Max-Ernest, but they don't succeed. You are left wondering what is going to happen in the next book.

I really like the writing style of Pseudonymous Bosch. It is very unusual and creative. For example, in this book the chapters go backwards instead of forwards. He does a lot of other fun things with his writing. I would recommend this book to readers that have a good sense of humor and enjoy mysteries and secrets.

A great sequel - -
If You're Reading This It's Too Late is a great sequel to The Name of This Book is Secret. A touching, beautiful work of art continuing the story of Cass and Max-Ernest. Psuedonymous Bosch rules!

My 10 yr. Old L-O-V-E-D This Book - TenderT - California USA
Acutally, he loved the whole series! The author's pseudonymous name, behavior, etc. excited my son. He kept wanting more and more.

If You're Reading This, It's Too Late (Secret Series) Overviews

Beware!

Dangerous secrets lie between the pages of this book.

OK, I warned you. But if you think I'll give anything away, or tell you that this is the sequel to my first literary endeavor, The Name of This Book is Secret, you're wrong.

I'm not going to remind you of how we last left our heroes, Cass and Max-Ernest, as they awaited intiation into the mysterious Terces Society, or the ongoing fight against the evil Dr. L and Ms. Mauvais. I certainly won't be telling you about how the kids stumble upon the Museum of Magic, where they finally meet the amazing Pietro!

Oh, blast! I've done it again. Well, at least I didn't tell you about the missing Sound Prism, the nefarious Lord Pharaoh, or the mysterious creature born in a bottle over 500 years ago, the key to the biggest secret of all.

I really can't help myself, now can I? Let's face it---if you're reading this, it's too late.

The Adobe Photoshop CS5 Book for Digital Photographers (Voices That Matter)

Great Deal The Adobe Photoshop CS5 Book for Digital Photographers (Voices That Matter)

I'm not new to photography, but I'm fairly new to Photoshop...CS5 in particular. In the interest of quickly getting up-to-speed, I signed up a few weeks ago with an Adobe Certified Instructor to provide personal Photoshop mentoring to me on a once-a-week basis. To supplement these sessions, I also joined NAPP and have watched dozens of their video tutorials; Adobe TV, etc. At the same time, I also picked up another highly respected author's book on CS5 (lets call it the "me" book) to try and put things together. The videos have helped, but I must candidly say that I quickly got lost in complexities of the writing in the "me" book and found it quite frustrating to say the least! Thats not to say that the "me" book isn't well done, but it is clearly written for someone that has had a fair amount of Photoshop experience in the past. IMHO, it's just way too detailed for the neophite user.
Then WOW...fast forward to Scott's new book which arrived at my home earlier this week. What an amazing book this is indeed. BANG...just open up to any Chapter and there you have a very straightforward, concise, step-by-step tutorial to guide and fast-track even the most inexperienced user through the process of getting the very best results out of his or her images. Photoshop frustration has been replaced with Photoshop fun. Trust me, using this book is like having Scott looking over you shoulder as you go through his easy-to-follow methodology. Even the complete novice can process some amazing images the very first time through.
Without reservation, I highly recommend you BUY THIS BOOK!!! Thanks, Scott, I'm having an absolute blast.

Re-ignite Your Passion for Photography - michael mcgreevy -
I have purchased all of Scott Kelby's books. I keep them all. This one is no exception.

Does your photography need a "kick in the pants?" Buy Adobe Photoshop CS5 and then get this book.

Try his recommendations on black and white photography, Content-Aware Fill editing, and High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography.

Then press the "restart" button on your photography. Your passion is back.

End of story.

Simply the best.

Great--but not if you have the last edition - Jackustus - San Francisco, CA United States
I'm a big fan of Scott's books--so clear, practical, and fun to look at. I loved his previous version for CS4. However, this book is virtually identical, with the exception of some material on CS5's excellent new features, such Content Aware Fill. But these are easy to learn from Adobe's online video tutorials. If you already have this book for CS4, there's no reason to get this version. But if you don't have the last edition, you're in for a treat. I heartily recommend it!

The Adobe Photoshop CS5 Book for Digital Photographers (Voices That Matter) Overviews

Are you ready for an amazing new version of The Photoshop Book that breaks all the rules?

Scott Kelby, Editor and Publisher of Photoshop User magazine—and the best-selling Photoshop author in the world today—once again takes this book to a whole new level as he uncovers more of the latest, most important, and most useful new Adobe Photoshop CS5 techniques for digital photographers.

This major update to his award-winning, record-breaking book does something for digital photographers that’s never been done before—it cuts through the bull and shows you exactly “how to do it.” It’s not a bunch of theory; it doesn’t challenge you to come up with your own settings or figure it out on your own. Instead, Scott shows you step by step the exact techniques used by today’s cutting-edge digital photographers, and best of all, he shows you flat-out exactly which settings to use, when to use them, and why. That’s why the previous editions of this book are widely used as the official study guide in photography courses at colleges and universities around the world.

Learn how the pros do it
Each year, Scott trains thousands of professional photographers how to use Photoshop, and almost without exception they have the same questions, the same problems, and the same challenges—and that’s exactly what he covers in this book. You’ll learn:

  • The sharpening techniques the pros really use.
  • The pros’ tricks for fixing the most common digital photo problems fast!
  • The step-by-step setup for getting what comes out of your printer to match exactly what you see onscreen.
  • A whole chapter on how to process HDR (High Dynamic Range) images using CS5’s new Merge to HDR Pro.
  • How to master CS5’s new Content-Aware Fill.
  • How to color correct any photo without breaking a sweat.
  • How to process RAW images like a pro (plus how to take advantage of all the new Camera Raw features in CS5!).
  • How to use the included gray card to make color correction just a matter of three clicks.
  • How to show your work like a pro!
  • A host of shortcuts, workarounds, and slick “insider” tricks to send your productivity through the roof!
Plus, Scott includes a special bonus chapter with his own CS5 workflow, from start to finish, and each chapter ends with a Photoshop Killer Tips section, packed with time-saving, job-saving tips that make all the difference. If you’re a digital photographer, and if you’re ready to learn all the “tricks of the trade”—the same ones that today’s leading pros use to correct, edit, sharpen, retouch, and present their work—then you’re holding the book that will do just that.

Secrets of a Summer Night (The Wallflowers, Book 1)

Great Deal Secrets of a Summer Night (The Wallflowers, Book 1)

I have recently read all the books in the series. My ranking of them is as below:

Scandal in Spring (Book 4) - most favorite - 5
It Happened One Autumn (Book 2) tied with The Devil in Winter (Book 3) - both 5's
Secrets of A Summer Night - a strong 4

I enjoyed reading this novel with all the characters and sub-plots in it, but the heroine really rubbed me wrong with her "superior" and illogical attitude over Simon Hunt, merely a butcher's son, who obviously could take care of her family, like, two years ago. She still had too much pride, even when her family no longer had the financial means to keep going if it weren't for her mother's, cough, benefactor to throw a little money for a sexual favor in return. And she knew about it.

I liked her better at the end when she matured and dropped her old-fashioned views about the value of peerage and thinking herself to be superior to her husband's family. But, before then, she was really annoying. I did like her in the other three books.

I give it a 4 because it's still a great novel to read like the Rounders game in knickers which was fun to read, the show in the prologue, her mother's stabbing of her "benefactor", pairing her with Hunt's mother on the trip, the brother, Hunt's family, Westcliff, the friendship with the Wallflowers, the disaster at a factory, and so on. All those details that make for a great read.

Like it a lot!!! - Serena D - Bavaro, Dominican Republic
I took this book and could not let it down, I finished it in two days, I simply love it, I adore the hero Simon Hunt who stop at nothing to get the girl he wants and that for once he is not an aristocrat he is just a hard working and wise man. I found the story refreshing and funny and sexy it has it all!!

Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code (Book 3)

Great Deal Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code (Book 3)

I originally was skeptical about reading this series because I heard that it was a mixture of fantasy and science fiction, and those aren't my favorite genres. However, when my sister brought it back from the library I decided to try it. I literally couldn't put it down! The story was well written, it was very funny, and it was much better than the average dime-a-dozen fantasy or science fiction novel. I haven't yet read the first two but I will shortly hopefully, along with the later ones too, of course! I wholeheartedly give this book five stars. My only regret is that I didn't read Artemis Fowl and The Arctic Incident first.

Fast and full of action. - -
Action and suspense create this book. I felt a bit downhearted when Butler changed ( I won't tell you how, because it would ruin the story for you). I highly recommend reading this book.

Artemis Fowl 3.......OMG! - Quinton Hawk -
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh! Artemis Fowl 3 was off the hook. Beautifully written. My heart was on the verge of pounding out of my chest. Every page held descriptive words that described the situations even more. I loved this book reading a hundred pages in an hour! Eoin Colfer delivered another captivating Artemis Fowl book. This book was...AWESOME!!!

Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code (Book 3) Overviews

Artemis Fowl is going straight. As soon as he pulls off the most brilliant criminal feat of his career.

At least, that’s the plan when he attempts to sell his C Cube, a supercomputer built from stolen fairy technology. When his efforts to broker a deal for the Cube with a powerful businessman go terribly wrong, his loyal bodyguard and friend Butler is mortally injured. The only thing that will save him is fairy magic, so once again he must contact his old rival, Holly Short.

It’s going to take a miracle to save Butler, and Artemis’s luck may have just run out.

Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code (Book 3) Specifications

In this third installment to Eoin Colfer's funny, fast-paced, fairy-filled adventure series, boy genius and arch criminal Artemis Fowl once again can't resist plotting the perfect crime--and, once again, he can't keep from stirring up so much trouble that the fate of the entire fairy world teeters in the balance.

The once hard-boiled Artemis has softened a bit between his bestselling debut and the seat-of-your-pants Arctic Incident, and that trend continues in The Eternity Code: He's still plotting for a billion-dollar-plus payoff for the Fowl family, but now his enemies are human (chiefly Jon Spiro, a ruthless businessman Artemis tries to blackmail using stolen fairy technology) and he has to turn to his old adversary-turned-friend Captain Holly Short and cutpurse dwarf Mulch Diggums for help. The dialogue and action prove as smart and page-turning as ever this time around, with Artemis struggling to bring his faithful bodyguard Butler back from the dead before racing Mission Impossible-style to triple-cross the double-crossing Spiro.

Colfer's young antihero might be getting more likeable all the time, but that hasn't taken the edge off the Tom-Clancy-meets-Harry-Potter action. Artemis has to agree to a memory-erasing "mind wipe" from the People after helping them recover their technology, but only a foolish fan would count Artemis out after this blockbuster "final heist." Book four can't come soon enough.... (Ages 9 to 12) --Paul Hughes

First Spanish Reader: A Beginner's Dual-Language Book (Beginners' Guides) (English and Spanish Edition)

Great Deal First Spanish Reader: A Beginner's Dual-Language Book (Beginners' Guides) (English and Spanish Edition)

Good book. Set up well, spanish on one side, and the exact translation in English on the other side. Nice glossary in the back for every word that I've had a question on. No complaints. Some say that the book is outdated with it's stories, but that's how it's supposed to be. These are not new stories, there classics from all over the Spanish speaking world. I have'nt found any of the language to be outdated, but some is regional, but that's to be expected. ie. Spain, Argentina, Mexico etc.

Good book - Mathias -
It shows the english and spanish side by side. Must have a basic understanding of spanish to get real value from it.

Worth Buying - J. Madden - Richmond, VA USA
I wanted some additional reading material in Spanish and this is a good choice. I would recommend it.
